When you decide to come and visit one of the youngest cities in Croatia, its tame landscape and good people, you can stay in "Central" hotel in the centre of town.

If you take local roads outside Bjelovar, by car or a bike you can visit climber's lodging "Kamenitovac". It is situated on Bilogora, 242 metres above sea level where from you can see Bjelovar and wider surrounding area of north-west Croatia. Whether you are a hiker or a mountaineer this is the place to refresh, have a good meal or lodge for the night.

In Višnjevac, on Krajačević country estate "Dobrovita" you can experience the idyl of Bilogora. You can spend several days there in sport-recreational activities, enjoy this pleasant family's hospitality and try home-made gastronomic specialties they will offer you with pleasure.

When you come to Bjelovar, you can visit some of the ponds. Bjelovar countryside is known as heaven for local and foreign hunters because it is well populated with all kinds of game, specially large game.
Don't be surprised if you manage to find some of home-made products you have craved for on Bjelovar market-place.

If you visit our town, you will be able to see several different sport events in the same day. Among other sports, you can see bowling, volleyball, football and specially hand-ball because Bjelovar is since 1972 when it became European hand-ball champion known as "hand-ball city".

If you decide to activate yourself in sport and recreation, apart from bicycle rides through Bjelovar countryside, you can run on "Borik" trim-track, you can go horse riding in one of the equestrian clubs, hang-gliding with motorized hang-glider over the town or cool yourself in the pool during the summer.

During whole year Bjelovar has sport, culture and entertainment events and it often hosts manifestations like "Crni mačak" ("Black cat"), Croatian award for best rock achievements, "BOK-fest", theatrical manifestation, dance competitions and so on.

In June in Bjelovar "TEREZIJANA" takes place. It is a several days long traditional, culture-entertaining and tourist manifestation. It consists of sport bicycle and archery competitions, unusual records and fashion shows, concerts and stage presentation of archduchess Maria Theresa’s arrival to Bjelovar.

Anyone who is familiar with Bjelovar and its surroundings knows that it is leading agronomical and livestock farming area in Croatia. Therefore, Bjelovar has "Bjelovarski sajam" ("Bjelovar fair") manifestation with centuries-long tradition.
It gathers the biggest seed producers, cattle-breeders and agricultural mechanization producers in Europe. More than 10.000 people visit it every year, thereby it is known as the biggest agricultural fair in this part of Europe.

Recently Bjelovar became the centre of almost all biggest trading chains, so, besides "the fair town" it can also be called "the town of trade". Every form of supplying and purchasing in Bjelovar becomes a pleasure.

If you visit town museum you will find out about Bjelovar history. Since 1949 when it was established till now the museum have stored 40.000 artifacts. Through ordinary archeological, ethnographic and culture-historical exhibition and recent art and thematic expositions in two exhibition rooms it combines great periods from prehistory till today.

You will surely remember your stay in Bjelovar and its central park on the Eugen Kvaternik Sguare. It is the most beautiful square in continental Croatia for the second year in the row, and Bjelovar is proclaimed to be the third most beautiful town in continental Croatia.
